State of the Organization & Merger Updates

Welcome to the NEW Curling Ontario! Following the recent unification of Curling Ontario, the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) and the Ontario Curling Council, we are pleased to share our first official State of the Organization update — part of our commitment to ongoing, transparent communication with clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and partners.

Organizational Structure & Contact Guidance

Curling Ontario has established a consolidated staffing structure to better serve members across the province. We have several new team members joining the organization and to make it easy for you to connect with the right person for your needs. Please review our organizational chart and staff accountabilities page:

Why we created these resources
  • Reduce delays and duplicate requests by directing inquiries to the right person first.
  • Improve transparency about roles and services across the organization.
  • Help clubs and stakeholders get faster, more useful responses.

We encourage you to use the organization chart and Staff Responsibilities page when reaching out — it will save you time and ensure your request is handled by the most appropriate team member.

Transition Board & Leadership

A transition board is in place to guide the merged organization through its initial phase of operations and governance. This board will work closely with Curling Ontario’s CEO to ensure a smooth transition while protecting regional interests and representation. Learn more about our Board of Directions here.

Strategic Plan & Priorities

We have launched a new strategic plan to guide Curling Ontario’s work for the coming years. Built from extensive member survey feedback and three public focus groups, the plan centers on our vision and mission and is organized around four pillars: Participation, Sustainability, Insights, and Foundation.

Learn more about our strategic priorities and how they will shape programs and services:

Club Development — Our Primary Focus

Consistent with the merger business case, Curling Ontario is strongly focused on club development and supporting member facilities. Erin Jarvis has been named Senior Manager, Club Development and will lead our club services and program strategy. We will be adding a Club Development Coordinator this summer to expand capacity and deliver more hands‑on support to clubs.

To learn more about the services and benefits available to your club, please review our club support resources here:

Resources & Summer Opportunity

Get ready for a strong fall — access the Club Resources this summer to plan and prepare while things are quieter. These materials are perfect for board reviews, program planning, and volunteer training. To get started, create your Curling Ontario Member ID.

While we continue transitioning and onboarding Northern clubs into the affiliation process, account registration differs by region. Refer to this webpage to learn how to create a Curling Ontario Member ID based on your location.

Youth & Sport Development

Increasing youth participation is a core objective of the new organization. Laura Forget will serve as Senior Manager, Sport Development and will oversee youth programming and broader sport development initiatives. Stay tuned for announcements on new youth programs and opportunities in the months ahead.

Save the Date

Please save the date for the Curling Ontario Conference & AGM: September 19at the Best Western Brantford. Registration opens later this week — more details and speaker announcements will be shared soon.

Next Steps & Ongoing Updates

In the weeks ahead, our operations team will continue finalizing merger logistics and transition details. We are committed to keeping you informed with regular updates over the summer and into the next season as this new organization takes shape.
