PUBLIC STRUCTURE

Matt Allen, Chief Executive Officer
  • Execution of the Business/ Operational Plans; 
  • Ex-officio on all board of director committees and working groups;
  • Day to day management of operations; 
  • Partnership and sponsorship lead; 
  • Oversee and monitor all programs and services; 
  • Liaise and direct contact for internal and external stakeholders, provincial/territorial associations and government agencies; 
  • Develop and enhance positive community and member relationships;
  • Represent the organization within external committees, media and member relations;
  • Execute special projects;
  • Ensure compliance and oversight with Safe Sport practices and procedures;
  • Responsible for IDEA initiatives;
  • Implement organization and board policies and directives
Michael O'Neil, Finance Manager
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and cash flow management
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and monitor organizational budgets in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and program leads
  • Maintain appropriate financial policies, internal controls, and risk management practices
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives
Jackie Deschenes, Competitions Manager
  • Lead the development and implementation for host bids and contracts for Curling Ontario; 
  • Lead the creation, review, and interpretation of competition rules, regulations, and policies;
  • Provincial Championships and events, including youth competitions; 
  • I/O setup, management, and support;
  • Regional Officials Teams support;
  • Main contact for Trillium Team Ranking System;
  • Oversee the compliance requirements of Curling Ontario competitions (Safe Sport, coaching certification, residency, member status);
  • General email inquiries – responds/re-directs emails sent to “info@curlingontario.ca”
Dave Hutchison, Competitions Coordinator
  • Develop and responsible for Curling Ontario draws and schedule;
  • Oversee the Curling Ontario Ice team for Championships;
  • Liaison with host clubs to review times/draws for Provincial Championships;
  • Manage the Curling Ontario officiating team;
  • Prepare and support host clubs for Curling Ontario qualifiers;
  • Process results & post event reports;
  • Oversee live scoring/I-O administration;
  • Manage timer training
Erin Jarvis, Senior Manager, Club Development
  • Day-to-day management of member club database & contact information;
  • Main contact point for all (club) member services and member benefits;
  • Ensure Member Club awareness of legislative requirements such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations act and assist with Club Member compliance;
  • Stick and Stones implementation;
  • Deliver and monitor all development programs and services such as Curling Ontario; Awards, Street Curl, and 50-50 lotteries, NSTF;
  • Assist Member Clubs with compliance and oversight on Safe Sport practices and procedures;
  • Contact point for member clubs on youth and adult curling programs, tools, and services
Laura Forget, Senior Manager - Sport Development
  • Athlete development pathways from beginner to high performance;
  • Youth curling programs and support (U15 RockFest, etc.)
  • Coaching, officiating, and ice technician education and development programs;
  • Technical resources and tools for clubs, athletes, and coaches;
  • High performance program oversight and support;
  • Collaboration with Curling Canada and provincial partners to align programs and development opportunities; 
  • Leadership and support for sport development planning and new program opportunities
Sean Turriff, High Performance Manager
  • Provincial youth camps – Amethyst and Trillium; 
  • Support and mentorship for athletes, coaches and high-performance teams; 
  • Regional development and training opportunities across Ontario; 
  • High-performance coach education and development programs; 
  • Athlete performance tracking, evaluation and support systems; 
  • Collaboration with clubs, coaches, Curling Canada, CSIO, and provincial partners; 
  • High-performance program planning, coordination, and delivery
Kerri Lott, Communications and Brand Manager
  • Main contact point for media requests for Curling Ontario;
  • Oversee Curling Ontario’s social media channels; 
  • Write, edit and produce a broad-range of communications material for internal and external use; 
  • Execute relationships with external contractors, partners and vendors as required;
  • Contact point for media requests during association’s Provincial Championships;
  • Manage the content of Curling Ontario website;
  • Main contact for approvals for use of Curling Ontario branding
