Athlete Development Grants & Scholarships

Curling Ontario supports athletes through a range of development grants and scholarship programs designed to reduce financial barriers, enhance training opportunities, and help athletes balance sport and education. Below is a summary of key programs available to Ontario curlers.

These programs play a vital role in helping Ontario curlers progress—from grassroots participation to high‑performance competition—while supporting education and long‑term athlete development.

Quest for Gold — Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP)

A provincially administered program that provides financial support to Ontario’s high‑performance amateur athletes. Objectives:

  • Support athletes pursuing national and international excellence
  • Encourage athletes to live and train in Ontario
  • Offset lost earnings during training/school breaks
  • Help athletes balance sport and education
  • Improve access to high‑performance coaching and competition opportunities

Selection is performance‑based; recipients are chosen according to provincial criteria and results at designated championships.

Canadian Athletes Now Fund (CAN Fund)

A national, not‑for‑profit fundraiser that connects donors directly to Canadian athletes. Donations provide athletes with funding for coaching, travel, equipment, nutrition and living expenses. Donors receive the name of the athlete they support and a tax receipt. Great for supporters who want to directly invest in athlete success.
