2027 Canada Winter Games Trials

Men’s and Women’s U18 Fours plus U21 Mixed Doubles
December 17-21, 2026 at Guelph Curling Club

Canada Winter Games Dates:
U21 Mixed Doubles: February 28th – March 4th (Training February 27th)
Women’s U18 Fours: February 28th – March 5th (Training February 27th)
Men’s U18 Fours: March 9th – March 14th (Training March 8th)

Key Details:

• An athlete may only qualify for Canada Winter Games in one event. Any athlete who achieves qualification in the Fours Trials event is immediately ineligible to compete in the Doubles Trials.
• Coaches are limited to one team per stream at qualifying events and trials. A coach whose fours team qualifies cannot also coach a mixed doubles team at the same competition. A men’s team coach cannot also coach a women’s team. If two teams with the same coach qualify, one team must find an alternate coach.
• Critical Coaching Requirement: All team coaches must meet Curling Canada’s Canada Winter Games coach requirements before the first qualifying draw. Due to limited course availability, coaches missing the Managing Conflict Development module may compete in qualifiers, but all requirements – including NCCP certifications, Safe Sport, and background checks – must be fully satisfied before the Trials. Coaches should review their status as soon as possible and contact us should they need assistance.
• Mandatory Bus Travel: All athletes and coaches must travel to and from the games together on the team bus. No exceptions.
  • Departure Hub: The bus will depart from a central location, which is highly likely to be in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • Travel days (Tentative):
    • Women & MD will travel before Saturday Feb 27 (first day of training & Opening ceremonies) and likely return Sunday March 7.
    • Men travel before March 8 – stay until after closing ceremonies – March 14.
• Mandatory Accommodations: All athletes and coaches must stay in their assigned accommodations. These are coordinated directly by the Games Organizing Committee (GOC), and no alternative arrangements are permitted.
• Travel to the Bus Hub: Teams are responsible for their own travel expenses to get to the central bus departure location.
• Potential Travel Bursary (TBC): There may be a limited travel bursary available for athletes who are flying or traveling more than 600 km to reach the central hub. Please note: This bursary is still to be confirmed (TBC).
