Key Details:
- Critical Coaching Requirement: Please be advised that all team coaches must fully satisfy the mandatory qualifications outlined in Curling Canada’s Canada Winter Games Coaching Requirements prior to the first draw of qualifying. We strongly encourage you and your coach to review this document as soon as possible to ensure all required NCCP certifications, Safe Sport modules, and background checks are fully completed and up to date before competition begins.
- Mandatory Bus Travel: All athletes and coaches must travel to and from the games together on the team bus. No exceptions.
- Departure Hub: The bus will depart from a central location, which is highly likely to be in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- Travel days (Tentative):
- Women & MD will travel before Saturday Feb 27 (first day of training & Opening ceremonies) and likely return Sunday March 7.
- Men travel before March 8 – stay until after closing ceremonies – March 14.
- Mandatory Accommodations: All athletes and coaches must stay in their assigned accommodations. These are coordinated directly by the Games Organizing Committee (GOC), and no alternative arrangements are permitted.
- Travel to the Bus Hub: Teams are responsible for their own travel expenses to get to the central bus departure location.
- Potential Travel Bursary (TBC): There may be a limited travel bursary available for athletes who are flying or traveling more than 600 km to reach the central hub. Please note: This bursary is still to be confirmed (TBC).
