U18 Academy Team Program
Curling Ontario’s U18 Academy Team Program supports the development of junior athletes through coach‑led training, targeted curriculum, and competition opportunities. Designed for curlers in the Train‑to‑Train and Train‑to‑Compete stages, the program focuses on athlete development—technical skill, tactical understanding, physical preparation and long‑term growth—rather than short‑term competition results.

What the program offers
- Coach‑led training groups with structured practice plans and performance monitoring
- Access to experienced, certified coaches and guest specialists
- A mix of on‑ice skill development and off‑ice athlete support (e.g., sport science, leadership, and team dynamics)
- Support for competition participation and practical learning opportunities
Who it’s for
- Competitive U18 curlers seeking a focused, development‑first program. Eligibility and selection criteria are set by program coaches and published with each intake.

How the Program works
- Program delivery is organized regionally and may operate at one or more host clubs. Exact locations, session schedules, and selection timelines vary by season.
- Coaches use a consistent, athlete‑centred framework to develop individual performance plans, measure progress, and support each athlete’s pathway.
- Program formats and offerings (training frequency, support services, and participation supports) can be adjusted each year to meet athlete needs and available resources.
Funding & support
Participant supports (e.g., coaching, education, competition assistance) are provided through Curling Ontario programs. Details on funding and what is included are shared with applicants and selected athletes each season.
