2026 Hit Draw Tap
January 24th on the championship ice at the Scotties being held Paramount Fine Foods Center in Mississauga!
Curling Ontario launched “Hit Draw Tap” in the 2015-2016 season. It was an instant success – over 450 kids participated in the first year! Hit Draw Tap is modeled after the NFL’s Punt Kick Pass or Master’s Golf – Drive, Chip, Putt. Since then the event has spread across Canada with competitions being held in Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern Ontario, Québec, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. In 2018-2019, Curling Canada launched Hit Draw Tap as a national program.
HDT at Your Club
Hit Draw Tap is a youth skills competition designed to introduce curlers age 6-12 to competition in a positive manner. Curlers will be divided into three age groups and will execute three shots – a Hit, a Draw and a Tap.
One person from each club must register to receive access to the digital event kit and access for reporting scores.
Record Your Scores
Scores from each club event will be compiled and posted online. Curlers will be participating virtually against others from around your province/territory through a web based leaderboard.
Results entered by Monday, December 29th, 2026 at 9:30 am will be considered for the Provincial Showdown.
Provincial Championships
New This Year: We’re making the final even more accessible! Participants will be invited to the showdown based on their top scores and through a special random draw – giving everyone who participates a shot at the excitement! Finalists receive swag, certificates, tickets to a Scotties Tournament of Hearts draw, and a chance to raise the Hit Draw Tap Trophy! Participant names provided to Curling Ontario by Monday, December 29th, 2026 at 9:30 am will be entered into the lottery for the Provincial Showdown
Invitations will be sent January 29th to the club HDT contact to then pass on to invited participants.
