Safe, Inclusive, Accessible Club Accreditation

Curling Ontario Launches the Fully-Developed Safe, Inclusive, Accessible Club Accreditation Program to Support Curling Clubs

Curling Ontario is excited to announce the official launch of its Safe, Inclusive, Accessible Club Accreditation Program, building on the tremendous success of its pilot year. Designed to foster excellence and continuous improvement, this new initiative provides clubs with clear standards and practical tools to enhance safety, inclusivity, and accessibility within your facilities and operations.

Developed in collaboration with Curling Ontario’s IDEA Working Group, whose valuable insights shaped the program’s framework, the accreditation initiative responds to a direct request from clubs seeking a structured approach to navigating these critical areas. The program is entirely optional, free of charge, and tailored to support club leaders every step of the way.

A Journey of Growth and Community Commitment

This program is designed as a long-term journey, not a one-year achievement, and is intended to support sustained culture change rather than overwhelm clubs. It focuses on three key areas—Safe Sport, Inclusivity, and Accessibility—to guide clubs in making meaningful progress over time. The program is segmented into three distinct checklists, each embedded with resources, templates, and guidance to make implementation straightforward and rewarding. To further support clubs, dedicated mentors will be available to share best practices, facilitate learning, and navigate the accreditation process.

Celebrating Progress and Community Leadership

Clubs participating in the program will be recognized for their efforts in each pillar through marketing tools that showcase their progress and promote their achievements to the broader community. This recognition aims to inspire continued growth and foster a culture of shared standards across the sport.

Support Every Step of the Way

This initiative is more than just a certification—it’s a journey toward safer, more inclusive, and more accessible curling clubs. Curling Ontario is committed to providing ongoing support and resources to help clubs assess, improve, and celebrate their progress.
