CurlON Rebrands to Curling Ontario

CurlON Rebrands to Curling Ontario: Embracing Our Roots, Redefining Our Future!

CurlON is excited to announce a significant rebranding initiative as we transition to our new brand, Curling Ontario. Our new focus enhances our mission to actively engage with our community and ensures we are dedicated to delivering exceptional support and opportunities for everyone involved in curling. Together, we look forward to building a brighter future for the sport we love!

This rebrand reflects the dawning of a new era for Curling Ontario, where we elevate our commitment to promoting the sport across the province and strengthening the trust we share with our member clubs, athletes, and partners, and kick off 150 years as an organization.

As part of this rebranding, we are excited to unveil a complete redesign of our logo. This new logo intentionally aligns with Curling Canada’s logo and captures the essence of curling while embodying a modern and dynamic spirit. Our transition from CurlON to Curling Ontario reflects our commitment to creating a cohesive identity and strengthening our connection to the sport, thereby enhancing brand consistency across the curling community along with several other Provincial/Territorial Curling Associations who will be making similar logo changes in the months to come. By adopting a name that resonates more deeply with who we are and what we do, we aim to foster a stronger bond with our existing, new, and prospective curlers, ultimately creating a more compelling business case for the growth of curling in Southern Ontario.

In conjunction with our new brand, we are excited to introduce our new website today as well. As one of the top opportunities of improvement identified in the organization’s engagement report earlier this year, we felt it critical for the development of a new website to be an imminent priority. The revamped site will serve as a central hub for curlers, clubs, and fans, offering comprehensive resources, event information, and updates on the latest curling news and initiatives across Ontario. Users can look forward to an intuitive navigation experience, enhanced accessibility, and a mobile-friendly design to keep everyone connected and informed.

Curling Ontario invites all current and future curlers, clubs, and supporters to visit our new website at www.curlingontario.ca and join us in celebrating this exciting transformation and our storied history in the sport of curling. Together, we look forward to promoting curling as a vibrant and inclusive sport for everyone in Southern Ontario.

In addition to the new website is the launch of a new club membership system as part of a new data strategy for Curling Ontario. Here’s what you need to know about this integration:

  • The club membership system will automate several procedures with the organization and our member clubs. Specific member club benefits, resources, webinars, and more will be ‘locked down’ for active member clubs of Curling Ontario.
  • In the coming days, Club managers and club presidents will be sent their access. These individuals will be able to add club leadership and personnel into their club portal and grant additional members of the club access to locked resources on the new Curling Ontario website.
  • Annually, clubs are required to complete an application for membership which will include sharing data on the clubs infrastructure. The intention from Curling Ontario is NOT to collect private membership information. Our goal is to develop better data on clubs and our infrastructure in Ontario for our collective betterment.
  • Annual Curling Ontario sheet fees will be automated through this system.
  • Improved club directory for public use.
  • Future plans include member clubs being given access to the platform to conduct their own membership registration in a more cost effective and streamlined way (target 2025-26 curling season).
  • To celebrate our new brand, we are excited to launch a new Curling Ontario merchandise shop. Curlers can now purchase merchandise online or pre-order gear to be delivered at various Provincial Championships throughout the year, saving shipping costs.

“We are proud of our heritage as CurlON and excited to embrace this new chapter as Curling Ontario,” said Matt Allen, Executive Director of Curling Ontario. “As we celebrate 150 years of curling in our province, there’s no better time for this rebrand. Aligning our new logo with Curling Canada not only honours our rich history but also strengthens our ties to the national curling community. Our new website will engage our community more effectively, providing essential resources for players, coaches, and fans alike.”
