Curling Ontario Launches Groundbreaking EDI eLearning Module
Curling Ontario is proud to announce the launch of its innovative eLearning module, titled “Build Successful Curling Experiences Through Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” This essential resource is designed specifically for our member clubs and aims to support their efforts in fostering an inclusive environment within their facilities.
The “Build Successful Curling Experiences Through Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion” eLearning module equips curling leaders and stakeholders with the knowledge and tools to contribute to the overall success of their clubs and the sport of curling. By focusing on creating a climate that reflects, respects, and promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion, this course represents a significant advancement in Curling Ontario’s commitment to supporting its member clubs.
Participants will benefit from the following learning outcomes:
- Recognizing implicit biases and understanding their potential negative impact
- Explaining the importance of fostering a climate that is equitable, diverse, and inclusive
- Applying practical strategies to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion to improve the success of their curling club or facility
This engaging, asynchronous module will take approximately 60-75 minutes to complete, allowing participants to learn at their own pace and convenience. Whether pausing or stopping, users can easily return to where they left off.
“We believe this module represents a critical step in our ongoing commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within the curling community,” said Gerry Sundwall, IDEA Working Group Chair. “We encourage all staff, board members, volunteers, and instructors to take advantage of this world class learning opportunity to further their EDI initiatives.”
