ABOUT THE POSITION
Curling Ontario is the governing body for amateur curling in southern Ontario as recognized by curling’s National Sport Organization, Curling Canada. Curling Ontario provides programs, services and competitions for nearly 50,000 curlers and approximately 250 member curling clubs.
Curling Ontario has an exciting summer employment opportunity for a student or young adult who wants to be part of the Curling Ontario team. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join us for the summer to work in various parts of our business and to oversee program outreach to clubs.
Position Title: Office Assistant
Length of Term: May 1 – August 31, 2025 (Dates are flexible)
Work Location: Pickering (flexible)
Work Hours: Approx 8:30 – 4:00 (1/2 hour unpaid lunch), 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $18.20/ hour

Position Duties:
- Provide internal support to the organization through maintenance of various registration database.
- Assist with data entry, production of reports and resources

- Assist with community outreach and program logistics
- Assist with summer event organization (i.e. Annual General Meeting)
- Assist with preparations for upcoming curling season – i.e. competition schedules, posters, coaching workshops, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Member Services Coordinator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Event management, Recreation and Leisure or Sports Management
- Computer, MS office, Google workspace experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Strong organizational skills
Mandatory Requirement (due to 2025 Canada Summer Jobs Application/Agreement) – to be eligible students MUST be:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act: and,
- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
