Call for Candidates: Join CurlON’s Board of Directors!

CurlON is pleased to announce the commencement of the call for nominations for our 2024-2026 Board of Directors. This exciting opportunity invites passionate individuals to contribute to the growth and development of curling in Ontario by serving on the organization’s esteemed Board.

CurlON’s Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in steering the strategic direction of the organization. Comprising eight elected Directors and up to three non-voting Directors, the Board represents a diverse array of stakeholders within the curling community, including member clubs, athletes, competition officials, and club management. Together, the Board works collaboratively to advance the sport of curling and achieve CurlON’s strategic goals.

CurlON is currently seeking four qualified candidates to join its Board of Directors for the 2024-2026 term. These individuals will have the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of Ontario’s 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan, guiding the future of curling in the province. CurlON is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion on its Board, and encourages candidates from all regions and backgrounds to apply.

Board members are tasked with setting Ontario’s curling strategy, engaging with stakeholders, and upholding good governance practices. While prior board experience is not required, ideal candidates possess a range of skills and experiences, including financial literacy, ice and facilities management, diversity and inclusion leadership, and human resource expertise. Above all, candidates should demonstrate a passion for curling and a commitment to service.

To apply for a position on CurlON’s Board of Directors, interested individuals must complete and submit the CurlON Board of Directors 2024-2026 Nomination Form, along with the required attachments, to nominations@ontcurl.com by 4 pm (ET) on Friday, May 10, 2024. CurlON will be hosting a Candidate’s meeting on April 18, 2024, at 5 pm (ET) to provide an overview of the role and answer any questions potential candidates may have. To register for this session, please contact nominations@ontcurl.com.

Following the submission deadline, all applications will be reviewed by CurlON’s Nominations and Awards Committee. Successful candidates will be presented to CurlON’s voting members from June 1 – 15, 2024, with voting taking place between June 15-30, 2024. Successful candidates will be notified by August 1, 2024.
