Curling Ontario Opens 2025-2027 Board of Directors Nominations

Curling Ontario Opens 2025-2027 Board of Directors Nominations

Curling Ontario has opened nominations for our 2025-2027 Board of Directors. This is a wonderful opportunity for passionate individuals who are eager to help shape the future of curling in Ontario by serving on our respected Board.

The Board of Directors at Curling Ontario plays a crucial role in guiding the strategic vision of our organization. Comprising eight elected Directors and up to three non-voting Directors, the Board reflects a diverse mix of stakeholders within the curling community, including member clubs, athletes, competition officials, and club management. Together, they collaborate to promote the growth and development of curling and to achieve key strategic goals outlined by Curling Ontario.

The Curling Ontario Board serves as a governance board and are focused on recruiting members whose skills align with our established skill matrix. For the 2025-2027 term, we are specifically seeking candidates who possess expertise, education, and/or experience in the following areas:

  • Strategic planning expertise,
  • Diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility lived experience, awareness and/or policy leadership,
  • Legal expertise/accreditation,
  • Human resources leadership/accreditation,
  • Revenue generation experience through sponsorships, and
  • Provincial level curling competition leadership/knowledge (e.g. event, athletic, coach or officials).

From April 15 to May 15, 2025, we invite qualified candidates to submit their nominations for the upcoming term on our Board of Directors. This is your chance to contribute to the Curling in Ontario 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan and be involved in the development of the new strategic plan beginning in 2026. We are especially committed to fostering diversity and inclusion on our Board and encourage applications from individuals across all regions and backgrounds.

To apply for a position on the Curling Ontario Board of Directors, interested candidates should complete and submit the 2025-2026 Nomination Form, along with the necessary attachments, to nominations@curlingontario.ca by 4 pm (ET) on May 15, 2025.

Once the submission period closes, the nominations committee will conduct interviews with candidates during the week of May 19, 2025 to identify the best qualified slate of candidates to be presented to the board of directors. Elections will then open to Curling Ontario voting representatives in June with email notifications sent to voters. Successful candidates will be announced in July and expected to attend the Annual Meeting on September 20, 2025, in Cobourg.

We encourage all interested candidates to review the following important policies and resources before applying:
