2025 Ontario Championships in Cobourg, Ontario!

West Northumberland Curling Club Selected as Host for 2025 Ontario Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships

CurlON is thrilled to announce that the 2025 Ontario Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships will be hosted by West Northumberland Curling Club, to be held at the Cobourg Community Centre from January 20 to 26, 2025. With a successful track record of hosting previous Ontario Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships, West Northumberland Curling Club is well-equipped to ensure the success of this event.

“This year holds special significance for CurlON as we celebrate our 150th year as an association, and hosting such a prestigious event in Cobourg adds to the excitement. We have full confidence in West Northumberland Curling Club to deliver an outstanding competition, and we look forward to celebrating the sport of curling in a setting that truly honours our longstanding legacy.” said Rick Thurston, Board Chair, CurlON.

This event will gather top curlers from across the province to compete for the title of Ontario champions. The Cobourg Community Centre, with its state-of-the-art facilities and renowned hospitality, promises to provide an exceptional experience for athletes, spectators, and volunteers alike.

In addition to vying for the provincial title, the women’s teams will have their sights set on qualifying for the Canadian Scotties Tournament of Hearts, scheduled to take place from February 14 to 23, 2025, at Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Meanwhile, the men’s teams will be competing for the opportunity to represent Ontario at the Montana’s Brier, set to be held from February 28 to March 9, 2025, at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia.

“We are honoured to have been chosen as the host for the 2025 Ontario Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships,” said the Organizing Committee of West Northumberland Curling Club, comprised of Linda Laliberte, Jeff Gilmer, and Ian Hartford. “We are committed to delivering a first-class event that celebrates the spirit of curling and showcases the talent and dedication of our athletes.”
